Abortion rights advocates on Tuesday won a critical victory in Ohio, beating back a measure that would have made their push to enshrine abortion rights in the state's constitution more difficult. (CNN News)
Yesterday, Ohioans voted NO on State Issue One and instead voted YES to maintain a one-person-one-vote form of Democracy in the state of Ohio. The scam by Red State Legislatures, to limit a one-person-one-vote by eliminating majority rules, by ignoring the will of the people, had an overwhelmingly huge setback, as the voters of Ohio realized that Constitutions can and should enshrine the rights and will of the majority.
Ohio joined voters in Kansas, Kentucky Colorado, Michigan, and Wisconsin, realizing that the Republican Party and their Wealthy Donors, who buy and own Right-Wing, MAGA, Christian Nationalism politicians, NEVER HAVE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IN MIND when pretending to pass legislation.
Whether they are identified as PROPOSITIONS/ISSUES/MEASURES or INITIATIVES, when these items are placed on the ballot, and the PEOPLE, not the Legislators actually have a direct hand in governing, the true will wants and wishes of the Majority take effect.
Imagine if our nation placed topics of Women’s Reproductive Rights, Gun Safety, GGBTQ Rights, Climate Awareness, and Education Standards, on a National Ballot, how much more progress we would make with Human Rights and Civil Rights. Imagine, how, if the real American had a direct say in our government, HOW Gerrymandering, Dark Money, and PACS, would wilt on the vine because none of those equate to our Democracy!
Ohio is a beginning, the rest of this nation must remain Vigilant, ACT-UP, and Fight Back.
