Gai Avek/Gutta Nu

 Gai avek! (Go Away)  Gutta Nu (So, what now you Putz.)  Growing up, My Grandma Braff would always be dressed as if she was at a fancy party, wearing the reddish rouge upon her cheeks, the same color as the bright red one, the glossy shade covering her lips, never leaving the house without a decoration consisting of a necklace two bracelets, and both her engagement ring and a simple gold wedding band. Her shoes were always the same color as her belt, she had one all-purpose pocketbook, and for family engagements or very special occasions her purse (which was a bit smaller and had enough room for her compact, her lipstick, a spritz of perfume, a small brush and comb, an embodied handkerchief, and a plastic rain hat, just in case…) Her hair was always impeccably coiffed, and she only would don a hat, if she knew immediately a mirror would appear at the location from which she expected to visit.  She also carried TUMS, just in case, and her grandchildren, were never certain what that case would be, but being prepared was always something my Grandma Braff insisted upon!

 

Grandma Braff was loving but maintained her survival skills as a 12-year-old girl arriving from Romania, and being settled into her older sisters home, had been told just two things, the first, learn to speak English, because no one likes a Jew, let alone a Jewish Refugee, and get a job, because there are no free meals in America, and what roads that might have been laid in GOLD, have been paved over. Grandma Braff would make the best chicken soup/chicken and rice, and gefilte fish, play Gin Rummy as if her life depended on it, (Never JUST letting any of her grandchildren win, because they were kids,) and loved a good game of Canasta, (which she swore was invented by Romanian Jews!) Her patience was tried and tried, but she always understood that the small things in life were just annoyances, and to TRY, a patience, WAS actually a good lesson in life, teaching the unsuspecting student valuable coping skills for the REALLY IMPORTANT schmutz that could and eventually would fall from the sky. HOWEVER, when a person DID manage, to roil her demeanor, and cause the rest of her face to match the ruby red, or was it fire engine red of her rouge and lipstick, the first words out of my Grandma Braff’s lips were “Gai Avek and Gutta Nu.” (All in one huge HISS)  And if, upon Grandma Braff’s arrival, the first thing any of us heard were those two phrases, rather than “I love you,” we all knew something UNBELIEVABLY awful, something, almost beyond REPAIR, something INSIDIOUS had happened, and to make it go away would not be easy!

 

Each day, as I awake, after kissing my husband good morning, and petting our dog, the words Gai Avek, and Gutta Nu, almost fall out of my mouth, whether, because I know unless there IS a large banner running across my phone stating Trump is Jailed, or Trump has been Banned from the White House, or Trump has gone away (on his own or via the Congress and Secret Service), I KNOW that EVIL still has a strong presence in this nation, and the Devil is STILL holding court. I could, as usual state the myriad of mad machinations, made by Trump, purposely poised to disrupt our democracy and the citizens of this nation (My Nation,) but I grow so tired of repeating the obvious, while so many of HIS cult remain oblivious. Another Day and NOTHING has changed…when. If ever, might it? I have to wonder what kind of conversation goes on when my Grandma Braff looks down at this world she has left behind!  

Just Tag Them

 So, there was rioting in Staten Island, because, the patrons of a bar, preferred that drinking and partying, en-masse, minus a mask, was their MAGA/American show of patriotism and that the Chinese Virus was STILL nothing but a plot by SOCIALIST ELITES, to just screw with Trump. Their rights, so they shouted, shoulder to shoulder among and amidst billions of COVID particles floating which each and every bellowing defiant voice, were being denied, C’mon they collectively protested, if I want to fuck your life over because my life is so fucked up, what’s it to you! No matter that in JUST the city of New York, there are 329,000 cases of COVID, and 24,323 deaths, or on JUST one day, December 3, 2020, to be exact 9,853 new cases were reported!

 

Then there are the disgruntled citizens of the Dakota’s, both North and South, who were assured by Trump that the COVID was just a mismanaged hoax by Blue State Liberal Antifa Governors, and since all Dems are snowflakes, to begin with, these Governors and THEIR citizens (not real all American red MAGA capped and White hooded ones that ONLY can be found in the middle of the country) were whah whaing, like spoiled IVY LEAGUE BRATS, and wanted to steal tax dollars so they all could live like Welfare Queens and Kings! The South Dakota Governor, one Kristi Noem is insisting the government is overstepping their authority, and if people want to party and play, what can be considered more American than that. And not to be outdone with the stupid, Governor Doug Burgum, handed down an issuance that even if you are a First Responder in a hospital setting and you tested positive for COVID but had no apparent signs, you should show up to work anyway! It's Dakota Territory and if they have to they will just become the Dakota Nation (wait, wasn’t that the name of the Indigenous Tribes, that lived there before being slaughtered by the White man? Now, of course of NO consequence are the stats for South Dakota with 84,398 Covid cases, with 1,064 deaths and just on December 4, 2020, 1050 new COVID cases, and NO consequence is the stats for North Dakota of 81,955, with 995 deaths, and JUST on December 4, 2020, 844 new cases. Nope, Nada, Not At all, none of that seems to be relevant, to living the life YOU want, no matter how it impedes anyone else around you!

 

I rant and rave, NOT because I care anymore about these selfish, self-serving idiots, smothered in Awesome Make America Great Orange Turd Sauce, but I rant and rave, because MAYBE, just MAYBE, the rest of America needs to let these groups and the many others, who somehow think Trump has their back, just rot like bad grapes on a vine. Perhaps if those in America who have no idea what greatness looks like, could give a shit, why not tag them such, and actually let them rot on the vine. Why not issue them a card that reads I Could Give A Fuck About COVID, and when they actually get sick or have to go to a hospital or ride an ambulance or need and ICU or ventilator, the First Responders see it and say, YOU KNOW WHAT, NEITHER DO, WHEN IT COMES TO YOU, SO STEP ASIDE! I mean isn’t that HOW THEY view America!

The medical staff in the town of Freedonia are receiving both death threats and police escorts as they come and go from work because the majority of the alive and so far non-tested positive residents are “pissed,” that somehow their First Amendment Rights are being denied because the medical professionals, who must risk their own well-being and that of their own families, have encouraged, both mask-wearing and social distancing, as the CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC rages roughshod throughout the country, and the once LIBERAL ONLY HOAX VIRUS, has somehow insidiously found footing in of all places the GOD BLESS AMERICA HEARTLAND OF KANSAS!

 

I should not give a shit, because it seems the majority of Freedonia Kansas citizens could actually GIVE A SHIT THEMSELVES, but it is hard to overlook this complete idiocy and ignorance and look the other way. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has invited hundreds of people to an indoor event at the State Department, despite a notice issued by the department last week that instructed employees to change “non-mission critical events” to virtual gatherings. Pompeo will be hosting the event with his wife, Susan Pompeo, on the eighth floor of the State Department on Dec. 15, The Washington Post reported. Two U.S. officials close to the matter told the Post that invitations to 900 people have already been sent. HONESTLY, if only, any of that found the light of day, rather than the fog of cowardness, and unconscionable charades, most of the GOP politicians in DC have preferred to demonstrate, as they try to avoid reporters, OR just remain silent, S-I-L-E-N-T! What NOW, now, some of the GOP had a come to (a Caucasian, mind you,) Jesus moment, and are doubting their ever before moments of ASS-LICKING AN ORANGE AUTHROTITARIANIST’S ASS! Somehow enough is enough, except, it really isn’t because, even as the Trump Cauldron of deceit and treason, lies, and enemy of the state manner has boiled over, WAY TOO MANY Republicans, with the ability to wield power, are instead, placing their hands in their pockets, and God only knows what is what they are wielding, or happening to keep them stymied or is the word I am groping for called STIMULATED!

When will we wake up, and actually realize, that “tantrums”, “hyperbolic”, “paranoia”, “narcissism”, “sociopath-anti social behavior,” “treasonous,” “lying,” are not acceptable nouns or adjectives or verbs, for the normal person, let alone the person who holds the power of conceivable a once and most powerful nation of the world? When do we as Americans, stop codling, and permitting Trump, and a cult-like figuration of enablers, acting more like enemies of the state, to shit upon, destroy, manipulate, and demolish not only our democracy, but our daily lives to the point where madness has now become mainstream, and words like “the new norm,’ somehow are used regularly in sentences!

 

Combined with a Pandemic, not necessarily created by Trump, but encouraged to inflame our lives, due to HIS reluctance to admit to HIS own inabilities to contain it, or care to think about it, and the rage of a spoiled maniac, so self-absorbed in HIS own failures, and fear of HIS own criminal consequences; SOMEHOW, a SHIT SHOW is on display, and all we seem as a collective nation is watch as orange Turds fall from the skies, and seemingly we watch, wait, and wonder, WHAT WILL BE NEXT!

The time we DEMAND, more than silence, or token reactions from the powerful politicians, who have already outgrown their resistance to find a backbone and worse, a conscience.
