Fool and their money

 It was another non NEW news day, not that the current events are meaningless, but they have once again become so mean and less notable for help or hope, purpose or promise; even I, one who does not like bygones to remain bygones, wishing them GONE, almost ran out of commentary and criticism. I mean the news has honestly become a plot in a Stephen King novel or a Shirley Knight novel; both authors reveal and rumination about the revelations of life being either, GOOD or BAD! And for them (Thank Goodness) to be in the middle, spread caution to the wind, OR keep your head in the sand because by standing straight you might have to make a decision or get smacked in the head for not, IS NEVER THE CORRECT OPTION TO CHOOSE.

 

I tried to NOT write my BLOG, today…I HONESTLY, made every attempt NOT to mention Republican Hypocrisy, Evangelical Christian Double Standards, The Sheer BLISS of Being an Extra Dumb as Shit MAGA, or Matt Gaetz…and here it is 6:07 East Coast Time, and until this moment as I place finger to keypad (I actually got a D in my typing class in high school, my teacher used to walk up and down the aisles and if she saw any student looking at the keyboard she would slap you with a ruler…and no this was not a Catholic School), I refrained from ruminating…BUT then I read a news story, which brought me a bit of smile…(no not about Matt Gaetz)

 

So, it seems the Republican National Party and many of their Congressional subsets are using the Snake Oil Technique of SCAMMING their devoted Klan, which Trump used for his campaign, and for which HIS campaign reportedly had to reimburse 65 PLUS Million Dollars. An already checked box, telling YOU the MAGA/FOX VIEWER or GOOD NAZI can make a donation and never realize that it will be tripled in cost or made for eternity. Yep, and if you decline, there is a paragraph that states someone will report you to TRUMP! Even before a WTF, could erupt from my gut, my brain intervened and said to my GUT, fuck those fools! Yeppers, if they continue to believe that TRUMP and the GOP are their saviors, let them ALL go broke believing. It is kind of like paying Joel Osteen, or Pat Robertson, or Alex Jones to have Jesus bring you into Heaven!

QUESTIONABLE

 Moscow Mitch still believes he owns the American Government, (which makes a lot of sense, due to the fact that ever since President Barak Obama was elected, Moscow Mitch indeed proclaimed that no matter what the popular voters wished for; IT would NEVER find fruition!)…and just for good measure, denied a Democrat Supreme court nominee the slightest chance to communicate, and instead placed two GOP darlings, (one with QUESTIONABLE sexual pleasures and choice of beverage, the other with QUESTIONABLE experience) in their LIFETIME FOREVER jobs. Moscow Mitch also rushed into courtrooms all across the nation, the most QUESTIONABLE of judges, most more conservative, and then the other!

 

Anyone paying attention to the Archaic and Inane so-called Upper Chamber (laughingly it is referred to as the most distinguished deliberative body of government in the world) has to wonder how the fuck one Senator from one state, can and does have MORE power than say a President AND can wish away what HIS DOMESTIC 1% DONOR TERRORIST PUPPET MASTERS, don’t like!

 

And now, it seems two times in two months, Moscow Mitch has threatened this nation, by first declaring a scorched earth policy if the FILLABUSTER (which honestly is a weapon in McConnell’s own arsenal), and now Moscow Mitch, has told CORPORATIONS (for whom HE and the GOP and his wealthy 1% Domestic  Puppet Masters ordained were people) to STOP BEING SO WOKE! Moscow Mitch made veiled threats, but the fact that his frozen face void of any emotion has no high or low, ONE has to imagine Moscow Mitch has some hidden weapons ready for them! I might be a bit dense (NO I AM NOT)…but this reminds me of some Orange Turd telling HIS cult-like followers to take over the Capitol!

Respect Yourself

  

In 1972 the Staples Singers released their single, ‘Respect Yourself,’ the lyrics immediately spoke to me, and having no idea I fell in love with a Christian Gospel Pop Record, I quoted the myriad of verses; thinking NOW THIS MAKES SENSE. It is now 2021, forty-nine years later and I found myself singing along to ‘Respect Yourself’, popping out of my earbuds as I was working out. (I am so old school in listening to music, that my favorite lists of music are all 60’s and 70’s, you know crotchety old man music!) And my concentration on form and function wandered to what the FUCK and who the FUCK do these Republicans think they are!...

Coke will like me, Delta will agree with my 'values' and I’ll probably get shoes from Nike & tickets to @MLB games. Ain’t America great?"

“…Oh, you cuss around women and you don't even know their names, no then you're dumb enough to think that'll make you a big old' man…” AND of course, Matty (My Daddy will fire your ass if you mess with me) Gaetz and We all shit so what if I shit in my pants and walk around in all day long). He AIN’T gonna resign from Congress, He AIN’T gonna be bullied, SHIT HE IS THE DUDE, and whoever he disrespects should wear that as a badge of HONOR!

 

Happy Fun and Messy

 More and more, perhaps because the older I get THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE AND MORE; I find myself reflecting on “THOSE, BACK IN THE DAYS,” occurrences which pop into my mind, causing a smile to grow from my gut to my brain, attach itself to my heart and appear on my face. Corny perhaps, but a little kernel of corn tastes a whole lot better than a mouthful of snark! (And I should know because there are way too many people, who need to have the SNARK smeared all over them…and I have no hesitation in doing so!)

 

Picture this, (as Estell Getty might say as she relates a story about her youth, in the TV show Golden Girls!) Pittsburgh the decade of the ’50s, the Saturday before Easter, my Jewish mother, unpacks her four dozen teacups of various and sundry assortment, places four grocery bags from the Star Market on the table, each containing at least 12 boxes of PAAS Easter Egg Dye, begins to boil 30 cartons of eggs, delivered to us by the Dairy Guy who would sell his farm goods on the weekends! She then has my siblings and I go into the dark recesses of our cellar (where we are sure the nastiest of spiders are lurking) to gather together old plastic tablecloths, from the Year One to be placed on the floor of our dining room, where we have removed all chairs from the dining room table, placed the two table leaves extending the table from east to west, with absolutely no way to walk around the table except underneath it. If it is still Passover, my mother had baked Pesach Brownies at least 6 trays, which are being housed in neighbor’s freezers, and if Passover has ended she has baked 6 chocolate cakes, half with homemade chocolate icing and half with vanilla icing. 

 

It is NOW Easter Sunday, the majority of our neighbors are Jewish, but already salivating, as they come to the Buncher’s to dye their dozen Easter Eggs. My father was a policeman, and most of his work friends were not Jewish, and about 15 extra kids would join us after Easter Mass. My mother would welcome everyone and would say: “Today may mean different things for every single person here, but the one thing we all have in common is to be creative…she would pause, (my little sister and I, when we were a little older would roll our eyes) and THEN my mother would add, and be as MESSY as you can! Happy Easter, Happy Fun, and Happy Mess! 

Not who or what BUT WHY

Bush said (probably the only truthful thing he muttered,) calling it VOODOO ECONOMICS! This may not be THE news story of the week, what with another death of a Capitol Police Officer, still protecting a place full of INSURRECTION loving Republicans…another ass licking Trump sycophant being called out and hopefully arrested for acting like Trump, Little Matty (My daddy has lots of money, so watch out) Gaetz…Little Lindsey Graham trying to demonstrate HIS form of machismo, by showing a PR Photoshoot, of him holding, or was it caressing an AR-15 Rifle, insisting that HE will be ready when the government collapses and will shoot those enemies of the state (remember, he cried for his mama during the INSURRECTION, and HE condemned those enemies of the state, UNTIL HIS DADDY, DONNIE, told him not to) and oh yeah HE is  Senator of said GOVERNMENT! So yeah, lots happened, but this trickle in a bottle bull shit by a company too wealthy to pay its fair share or for that matter any share of taxes, is like having jock itch, all you want to do is scratch at it, and as you scratch at it just spreads and spreads and spreads!

 

“If I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I'd like to do, is to save everyday 'til eternity passes away; just to spend it with you” (‘Time In A Bottle’/Jim Croce) To ask the question of WHO, are we as a nation, or WHAT have we become, I SAY, would be to demonstrate IGNORANCE and FOLLY of facts and truth! Maybe the question I should ask is WHY!

 

 

Bad to good

 ‘When Bad Things Happen To Good People’ is a 1981 book by Harold Kushner, a Conservative rabbi. It has also been a recurring theme during the 4 years that Trump was hacked into office by the Russian’s and prior to that at least 8 years while Mitch McConnell, one Senator, functioning as Lord and Master of the Senate due to very archaic and arcane rules promoted and permitted by the Good Ole’ Boys Club of the Upper Chamber of Congress! Bad things have been happening to good people at a record speed during my 71 years of living, causing me to sometimes wonder if the NATURE of things is so fucked up that BAD somehow is the new norm, and GOOD, a forgotten way of life!

 

We have to be reminded that Black Lives Matter. We are told that the zygote and fetus are God’s gifts, but the same people who lecture us on that prefer that brown children can be held in cages, black kids can drink from lead-tainted water faucets, transgendered children should be arrested for just being who they are, and orphaned children should remain in foster agencies as if they were cogs because that is better than having them placed in a loving home by two dads or two moms! We have been told that a white adulterer, a tax-evading, sociopathic liar is the new Messiah, while a black happily married truth-telling loving father and husband is the anti-Christ. We now have revisited past American injustices, inciting hate against Asian Americans, and have celebrated one of the lowest points of American history and brought back Jim Crow. And of course, Villages are for fools, and it should never be the responsibility of a village, to aid in the health and welfare of its inhabitants, because keeping all of us safe is a Communist plot!

 

I have grown so weary wondering which next VIILIAN will be held in high esteem by mere mortals so lacking in depth or perception, celebrated ad a liberator for their pent-up bigotry, bias and bogus hate, and uneducated and baseless facts, based on their own sense of inferiority and insecurity! But WAIT…maybe there IS hope that GOOD will GAIN footing. Sad, but true, I find much GLEE in watching Matt Gaetz squirm and stew, in a cauldron of his own insipid creation; a man who loves maligning others, MAYBE, FINALLY, having BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO BAD PEOPLE! One can hope!

 

 

MORE OF THE SAME, BUT NOT

 OK… It is the day after my second vaccination, and as much as I bragged last night, how I FEEL FINE…JUST PERFECTLY FINE…today, not only DID I NOT FEEL FINE, but in actuality, I could feel my hips, my lower back, my butt, and my right arm and every nerve, bone, ligament, and muscle; feeling more like the characters in the Fantastic Voyage a (1966) film in which a scientist is nearly assassinated. In order to save him, a submarine is shrunken to microscopic size and injected into his bloodstream with a small crew. (I loved that movie, OMG, I thought at the time, IMAGINE that kind of vacation!) Well, today I am on a VACCINATION UN-VACATION, achy, yucky, BUT happy as hell that SCIENCE and MEDICINE have been resurrected and revived…AND no matter what, the temporary complications, I am lucky enough to a part of that! And as I celebrate the aftermath of a proven scientific maneuver, along with the willingness of an intelligent and empathetic President and his cadre of SANE associates; I realize that SHIT IS STILL HAPPENING, all around me, and no one has yet developed a vaccination to heal that DISEASE!

 

So today we learned the real name of a crazy dude, Travis View, making at least $60,000 a day for spewing the dumbest of shit to the dumb shits who have never ever been raised with love or compassion; broadcasting his QAnon Anonymous is a pseudonym and supposedly his real name is Logan Strain. (Wasn’t it George W, who said some kind of Texas bull shit about fooling me once or twice or a thousand times…) We have been following the Tela-Novella of one of the most spoiled brats and rotten to the core, rich kids, Matty Gaetz, whose daddy had the Police chief fired when his son was arrested for a DUI, whose daddy, played politics and may be placed a few heads of horses on Floridian GOP’s beds, to get his son elected…Now Matty, is dazed and confused. Yup, he has moved on from denying he is a gay man having raised a Cuban orphan on his own (who suddenly, out of nowhere appeared on a vacation with Matty)…to now VEHEMENTLY denying he EVER DATED, let alone trafficked underage girls across state lines (kind of like Jessica Rabbit who said,  "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way.") Oh, yeah, as IS usual for spoiled rotten kids, they are NEVER to blame, EVERYONE MADE THEM DO IT, OR, even better, YOU DID IT ALSO…NAH-NAH-BOO-BOO!

 

And not last nor least, but NORMAL, Moscow Mitch, has declared any Biden effort to boost Americans, health or welfare, is just NOT gonna happen, because well because folks like Koch Enterprises and the other PLETHORA of 1%Domestic Donor Terrorists are having hissy fits because they might have to pay even a half percent of their fair share in taxes. BUT, like all REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS, as they speak out of both sides of their mouths; they are taking glorious claim for SAVING AMERICA, even though NOT A SINGLE GOP DOUCHEBAG voted in favor!  My body aches, in a good way, because I know I did the right thing based on facts; HOWEVER, my mind and gut still hurt in a BAD way because the Pandemic of Trump seems to have no limits!
