Sen. Tommy Tuberville told reporters he assumed that Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. Mark Milley would stay on past his Oct. 1 retirement date until there’s a Senate-confirmed replacement. When informed that, by law, Milley will have to leave his post on that date, Tuberville responded: “He has to leave? He’s out. Get somebody else to do the job.” (MSNBC)
For almost any job, there is a requirement that the applicant understand the mechanics, the rules and regulations, and the business plan for that job. It does not matter if the job is white or blue collar. If you are a clerk in a store, you should be aware of what that store is selling. If you are a teacher, you had to learn how to write a lesson plan. Of course if you are lawyer, or a physician, or even a mad scientist, you had to pass an exam, become licensed, and aware of what and for whom you are providing services.
Senator Tommy (Guberville) from Alabama is a US Senator, yet he knows nothing about the various job responsibilities his VERY IMPORTANT OCCUPATION involves. How is it, that our elected officials need no training, no actual work experience, no qualifications to actually do their job…a job, by the way, which affects, education, food services, armed services, health and welfare, atomic weapons, and much, much more.
Senator Guberville, is unqualified to flush a toilet, let alone decide anything about our military. Yet, with the assistance of Senator Mitch McConnell is permitted to play politics with our national security, and stop any furtherance of keeping this nation safe.
WHY, DO WE NOT MAKE IT A LAW FOR OUR POLITICANS TO TAKE AN APPTITUDE TEST FOR THEIR JOBS. WHY, AT LEAST DO WE NOT REQUIRE THEM TO TAKE A NEW CITIZENS TEST, JUST FOR THE BASICS UNDERSTANDING HOW THIS NATION WAS INTENDED TO FUNCTION.
