When Congress passes a law and it’s enacted, it’s then the president’s job to carry out that law. If the president doesn’t like the law, he can veto it or else ask Congress to amend or repeal it. Simple enough. What a president can’t do is sign something into law and then immediately ignore parts of it. But that’s exactly what Trump is doing. (MSNBC)
We no longer have checks and balances, we no longer have respect for law and order, we no longer have a President who gives a shit regarding the Constitution of the United States…what we do have, and have had since his inauguration, is a tyrant who is hell bent on being the ONE AND ONLY person to make and break the law.
What we do have is a political party of self-serving politicians who would rather preserve their tenure in office by indulging and permitting this President to continue his reign of authoritarian machinations.
So the question becomes, who will come forward and say Enough is enough. So far, the lower courts have made attempts to do so. Still, ultimately, their efforts are thwarted by the Heritage Foundation's Christian Nationalist Supreme Court Justices, who have demonstrated a loyalty to Trump rather than an oath to protect and enforce the Constitution.
