What Republicans said about suspending gas tax under Biden. (The Hill)
Then: The move was not received well by Hawley, who said on a radio show that “this is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard of.” ( Sen. Josh Hawley) …. “What the administration, of course, is coming up with is yet another gimmick, another Band-Aid and something they know is dead on arrival up here in Congress,” (Sen. John Thune) …““If he just suspends this gas tax for a period of three months — first of all, he would end up extending the suspension before the midterms for the reasons you alluded to a minute ago — but even if it were just three months, there’s a lot of revenue that still has to — we still have to pay for the upkeep and the maintenance of our interstate transportation network,” (Sen. Mike Lee) (The Hill)
Now: Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced plans to introduce a bill on social media Monday. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) followed up with her own message soon after. (POLITICO)
The words hypocrisy and double standards are no longer relevant when it comes to the Republican, opps, I mean, the Trump Party. It is useless to spend time calling out the men and women who refuse to admit that they are partisan hacks, ready and able to look the fool, act the fool, and remain foolish while stepping on their own words and pretending that, well that was then and this is now, and because this IS now, it is a whole different playing field, and set of rules.
I am certain that if someone had the time and patience, they could list almost eight dozen hypocritical and double standards promoted by the Republican Party. Are they liars? Are they Con Artists? Are they Snake Oil Salespeople? Are they Spinless? Are they the very worst DNA of a Politician? And then what does it say for those who encourage them and keep on voting them into office?
