Southwest passenger Pam Eason captured video of the moment a crew member told a plane full of passengers that Southwest had dropped its mask requirement. In the video, passengers can be heard clapping and cheering, and one says, "Yay, no more masks!"
"What an amazing relief!" Eason told CNN of her reaction the news. "Praise God, we've all done our part to get where we're at."
"Sitting for several hours in a tight, enclosed space with 200 coughing, breathing, sneezing strangers?" Writer Charlotte Clymer tweeted. "Yeah, I'm gonna keep wearing my mask on flights for the foreseeable future, and that's all I have to say about that."… "I'm so frustrated," one user wrote. This person, can ignore the pain and suffering of potential outbreaks of any VARIANT of COVID, pretend that those who died because of foolish decisions within the Trump Administration at the origins of COVID are just part of history; and pretend her, who gives a damn, the decision is for the benefit of the future.
