Is it already too late

“Trump Is Making It Easier To Fire Federal Workers Who Disagree With Him. A new rule will face legal battles, but would make “resistance” to Trump policies — like saying climate change is real — a fireable offense.” (HuffPost)

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt raised eyebrows and sparked concerns on Tuesday with her use of a single word while responding to questions about President Donald Trump’s call for Republicans to nationalize voting.

Leavitt was asked by a reporter to clarify whether Trump believes elections should remain under state control. “The president believes in the United States Constitution,” Leavitt replied. Then she added: “However, he believes there has obviously been a lot of fraud and irregularities that have taken place in American elections, and again, voter ID is a highly popular and common-sense policy that the president wants to pursue, and he wants to pass legislation to make that happen for all states across the country.” (HuffPost)

The Führer is planting his foundational roots of Authoritarianism deeper and deeper, and the Führer seems to have less and less pushback from the folks that we, the people, once relied on to stop our nation from turning into a cesspool of Fascism.

The so-called Constitutional guardrails of the three coequal branches of government have willingly faltered, with the Supreme Court permitting the president to act as a king and Congress, under a Republican majority, preferring to work for Trump's whims rather than the will of the people. Most of the mainstream media, under the tutelage of CEOs and Boards of Directors, placate Trump, placing their profits and potential for more and more above and beyond truth, democracy, and honor.

None of this is new, which is truly the saddest commentary about the Trump Take Over of America, and yet with each passing day, with each new Trump edict, it seems to me, my America the one in which I have so far lived 76 years of, is folding, caving in on itself, and all of this chaos comes as no surprise. Each day, Trump and his party of anti-democracy clowns push us to the edge. And damn it, it seems we are becoming weaker and weaker in the push back.
