I’m back at it…For the past three weeks, Joe and I have had a great opportunity to travel the Danube River, visiting myriad countries in Central Europe. So much history, such amazing stories, and places from which their own citizens had to fight for survival from the Nazi’s only to once again become prisoners in their own land when the Communists took control.
Our tour guides constantly introduced us to individuals who would say sentences such as, " We had been oppressed only to become oppressed again,” which period of time would you like us to discuss: our survival during the Nazi occupation, or the real revolution and freedom after the fall of the Soviet Union?
I tried not to read the news at least in any great detail; I thought perhaps I needed a break from the constant angst, criminality, grifting, hypocrisy, and con created proudly by Trump and his sick, sad, psychotic felons, rapists, emasculated and dangerous Republican enablers.
Too bad, at least as I see it, far too many Americans haven't read history; if they had, and unless their IQ is less than 10, this group of citizens could learn the lessons from Central Europe's past. The lesson that Hitler and Stalin pretended to be of the people, for the people…the lesson that isolation from the rest of the world just keeps the dictator with more power to isolate the citizens of any nation they decide they own…the lesson that whether it is Fascism or Communism, both are insidious mind control games to keep the peasants poor, the billionaires wealthy, and a very select few to act as Gods!
I am back, and have caught up on way too many horror stories, written by Trump and promoted by spineless and dangerous Republicans, all of whom have placed their own welfare and futures on a cockroach with orange skin.
