A Troubling Milestone: Most Supreme Court Rulings Are Secretive Votes With Little Justification. In its term that ended last October, the Supreme Court passed an important milestone that went unnoticed: For the first time, it decided more cases by secret ballot, and with few signed opinions, than it did for cases argued in open court. WAIT, WHAT? Now we have an Imperial Supreme Court, similar to Trump's Imperial Presidency! Nine people, not elected, and who serve for a lifetime, none of whom are required to provide even an iota of ethics reports or financial status reports. All of which seem to be given free rein as to who they wine and dine with, or report who has gifted them with lavish bribes.
The highest court in the land can now keep decisions it makes that directly affect all of us in the United States hidden from American citizens. Have these Justices become royalty? Is there something sinister they are trying to hide? Do they not want to be held accountable for their actions, but expect the rest of us peons and peasants to be held accountable for the laws they pass?
It is enough that we already have the Trump Reich, lie to us, omit facts for us, create fiction for us, and now, as if we the people are just cogs in some Imperial mechanism, the Supreme Court believes they can remain anonymous and not justify their rulings.
The dystopian environment in which we find ourselves struggling seems to be growing in leaps and bounds, created from insidious and intentionally evil actions of those with the highest powers in the land. When is enough, enough?
