NO yin nor yang

 Yin and yang: In Ancient Chinese philosophy, yin and yang is a concept of dualism, describing how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Throughout the 60’s and ’70s during my “hippie” years of college my first’s such as marriage, family planning, discovering my talents, and expressing my creativity; the term Yin and yang were as fluid as might the rush of a riptide, drawing you into the ocean, yet scrambling to escape its grasp.

 

Dualism, a dandy idea, opposite or contrary forces interconnected so Star Trekk-ish, so Star Wars sounding. Then throw in the term natural world and its interrelationship as if good is to bad as right is to wrong, fact is to fiction. I am now living the Roaring 2020’s and an entire universe has erupted especially in this country upon which the PHILOSOPHY of opposites becoming reality is nothing but a horrifying/mystifying/insidious game of snake oil, to the EXTREME DEGREE, causing decay, destruction, doom and dehumanizing with all its toxic haze forcing anyone in its way to choke, smother leading to death.

 

The Republican Party believe January 6, was just a good ole’ boy party. The Republican Party believes COVID-19 is a hoax. The Republican Party believes there are Good Nazis. The Republican Party believes anyone of color should not have their votes count. The Republican Party believes the Earth’s environment is alive and well. The Republican Party believes no matter how large the ballots cast for a Democrat, those votes are useless and carry no weight. The Republican Party’s mantra is to gaslight history. The White Evangelical Christians believe as long as Jesus is a Republican any or all scruples which might provide food, housing, jobs, education, health care, equality for the Poor Elderly, Ill, Middle-Class Black/Brown/Asian/LGBTQ/Jew/Muslim are BAD/WRONG/and for God sakes SOCIALIST! One more day and all I hear is that Matt Gaetz and Marjory Taylor Greene get applause and financial support, while Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney get booed and almost fired. Rudy Giuliani is a good guy for undermining the security of this nation, Trump will be rewarded with his FB Page reopened. Now individual police officers should not be held accountable for murder, rather their departments need to be taken to court. Caitlyn Jenner a transgendered person, wants different acceptance for herself than those who are transgendered and athletes. The same INSURRECTIONISTS who either climbed the Capitol Walls or gave permission for the Trump Big Lie to thrive are now recounting votes in Arizona. For me, real life is not a Yin and yang there is truth and all else is lies. There is good and all else is not. There are facts and everything else is bull shit or pretend!

 

CAITLYN

 The combination of both Reality TV and Government had become the fad that just doesn’t stop talking and taking and taking. And the term Reality TV, somehow is quite the misnomer, maleficent, and malfeasant Brand Name for the new brand of Snake Oil. For me, the ONLY Reality TV, used to be the news, (Before, even THAT, fell victim to a scripted, pre-plotted, and pretentious cornucopia of fiction, fable, lies, con, and propaganda; again if you have ever watched a Reality TV show, the fore mentioned descriptions are all key elements for their Bull Shit!) No direct commentary about the purpose of Reality TV, except it, seems somehow to believe any or all or some or most of the characters we watch are nothing more but actors pretending to play themselves, and for me doing a pretty awful job! Holding on as tightly as they can to 15, maybe 16, or in the case of the Kardashians 20 minutes of fame, these sham artists bring in the viewers and thus the advertisement dollars, so basically it is a win-win, but for who?

 

This brings me to MY real purpose for today’s rant; the total hypocritical callous, self-serving selfish and lack of any real REALITY of one Caitlyn Jenner, WHO seems to thrive in the make-believe world of REALTY TV: When a reporter asked Jenner during the impromptu interview for her opinion on the efforts by some Republican legislatures to ban transgender athletes from participating in sports consistent with their gender identities, she replied that she does not support trans girls playing on girls' teams.

"This is a question of fairness. That's why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls' sports in school," said Jenner, a Republican who is one of the most high-profile transgender Americans in public life. "It just isn't fair. And we have to protect girls' sports in our schools." She did not answer a follow-up question from the reporter about whether that view delegitimizes the identity of children who transition and now identify as girls. (CNN)

 

To be clear I too am learning about the population of Transgendered Individuals, (Many people assume if you are Gay, you know all of the issues and people regarding the LGBTQ population, as they ALSO assume if you are Jewish you know all the Jews in America…I am both Gay and Jewish and DO NOT know all or most from either demographic). But what I do understand, from the mouth of Caitlyn from her various Reality TV Shows and her Look at Me Specials, IS the fact that SHE demands total respect for her choice, and that her male to female transgendered transition meant that all that a FEMALE is capable of, she too as a FEMALE contain those capabilities! But Caitlyn is not a very empathetic individual or one with insight, so it seems…at least when she first prefers to become a politician. SUDDENLY, all the rights and respect SHE demanded for herself carry no more weight for anyone else. This Reality Sham or is it Shame, now wants restrictions on the TRANSGENDERED COMMUNITY, you know those who are not CAITLYN, and she wants those RESTRICTIONS so it seems for no other reason except right now, they might benefit this Republican Hypocrite in winning the votes of BIGOTS!

  

Twilight Zonish

FRIDAY NIGHTS, for those of us old enough, to have been young enough, to sit and shudder, check all the locks on the doors and windows, made certain the basement door had barbed wire around it, from 10 to 10:30, with an afghan around us to hide our eyes, just in case, and actually sitting a bit closer to your sibling than usual, again just in case, we KNEW some kind of fright was about to appear on our black and white TV’s, but BECAUSE this was the TWILIGHT ZONE, whatever we might have thought was NEVER as SCARY as what was presented. And as a reminder, at the end of each episode, Rod Serling would remind us by saying “In the Twilight Zone.”

 

At 10:30, we could quickly switch the TV dial to off, (no remote controls) turn off the lights, and race to our bedrooms, never once looking behind us to see what might be in the shadows: as we sought some safety. It is 2021, and somehow the Twilight Zone remains alive in the form of monsters named Giuliani, Gaetz, Cruz, Paul, Ingraham, Carlson. The light and shadows provide us with creatures named Trump, Kushner, Barr, McCarthy, Stone, McConnell, Ivanka, Boebert, and Greene. A dimension seemingly as vast as space includes Mar-A-Lago, Trump Tower, Concentration Camps for Immigrant Children, Gerrymandered Districts, Jewish Space Lasers. There is no middle ground, just wretched consequences of Oath Keepers, Good Nazi’s Bad Republican Governors and Legislatures, Systemic Racism, and some kind of GOD who prefers life inside a womb rather than those Black Lives, Transgendered, LGBTQ, Brown People, Jewish, Women, Poor, Homeless, and Hungry. Once upon a time, we could just turn off the Twilight Zone, rest assured there would be another scary as shit episode the next week. NOW, even more terrifying, we seem to live each day, hour, and moment in an area Rod Serling calls THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

 

 

MY RULES GAME

 When I was asked to student teach at the Point Park College Laboratory Classroom’s Primary Classroom, many eons ago, I was honored and quite proud of my skills and accomplishments as a college student. This was back in the late ’60s and education was on the move, trying its hardest to get past the black and white of life, do not EVER draw outside of the lines, immediately classifying your intelligence from your year in Kindergarten assigning YOU, from the age of 5, a future based on not much else but if you could read Dick and Jane and See Spot Run! This was an Open Classroom, ages 5 to 8, as liberal as one might imagine in curriculum, with imagination and creativity as boundless and bountiful! 

 

One of my students was the Dean of Education at Point Park’s granddaughter. I will call her Emily because she actually decided that would be her name as long as I student taught. Hmmm, I thought isn’t she cute! During my first semester of teaching Emily and I became quite a couple, and none of this was my intention, but the necessity of Emily’s need to have a male figure in her life, as her grandmother The Dean, felt an absent father, no male relatives, left a gap in Emily’s development. (How times have changed since then, THANK GOODNESS)…but that was how life had been perceived. Many moments of madness ensued, but I was NOT going to give in or give up. Often times Emily would tell the other classmates her GRANDMA WAS THE BOSS, at which the very confident kids would reply, she IS NOT THE BOSS OF ME. Often times Emily would bully other kids for attention, and way too often she would find herself in “TIME OUT,” which she thought just brought more attention to her. Once, for Show and Tell, Emily brought a garter snake, placed in her LONG, LONG hair. The snake decide to coil and Emily screamed; and FUCK, I had to touch the snake with my bare hands and uncoil it and pull it out. (THIS, and I remember it until this day, took about 2 hours.) But the one thing I recall most when I think back at those days is the game called MY RULES, in which Emily conned the very insecure 5 students to play. The rules of the game were that there were NO RULES until Emily made up the Rules while the game was being played. Emily figured she would win every game that way! I will end this part of my trip down memory lane by saying, by June, I won the trust of Emily and she then told me her real name.

 

MY RULES…so during President Biden’s address to Congress, (love saying President Biden), Liz Cheney, I cannot believe I am commenting on a CHENEY in a positive light…fist-bumped President Biden. I think if not the only GOP anti-American politician to do so, one of the few, and she caught un-imaginary FLACK for doing so. A simple outreach to the president of all Americans and this act of respect drew the IRE and WRATH of the GOP. And we are told that President Biden and the Democrats are to respect the Republicans and demonstrate a BIPARTISAN approach. HUH, WTF, and then I remembered EMILY, playing her made-up game MY RULES, and I just sighed…realizing just how hard it had been to tell EMILY, her rules did not RULE!

Senator Bill Frist a heart and lung transplant surgeon prior to becoming a Senator, actually, from a remote location looking only via a camera, declared he knew more about Terri Schiavo than her doctors or husband. Before this INTERVENTION DURING and even until THIS MOMENT IN HISTORY, the Republican Party declared declares and IDENTIFIES as the NO GOVERNMENT INFRINGEMENT IN THE AMERICAN PEOPLE’S LIVES----POLITICAL PARTY!

IN THE YEAR 2021, APRIL 3O, TO BE EXACT: West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice on Wednesday signed into law, a measure, that prohibits transgender girls and women in the state from competing on sports teams at "any public secondary school or state institution of higher education."The law, which cleared the state's Republican-led legislature in recent weeks, states that such teams must be designated based on "biological sex," thus prohibiting trans women and girls from participating on women's athletic teams "where competitive skill or contact is involved." "Biological sex" is a term the lawmakers use to refer to the sex determined at the time of birth based on "reproductive biology and genetics at birth."(CNN)

 

"I'm absolutely all in because I do not think that from the standpoint of our girls, that we ought to allow a situation to where, you know, for whatever reason may be, we end up with a superior athlete that could just knock our girls right out of the competition," the Republican governor said. When asked by Stephanie Ruhl of MSNBC to state on incidence where THIS SITUATION had taken place in the state of West Virginia, the Governor, looking perplexed, said there was no one he had heard of!

 

Once again, and honestly before and ever since the Terri Schiavo Case, all the Republican Party wish TO DO IS INTERVENE in the daily lives of the American Citizen, remove the teetering wall between Church and State, make this nation a WHITE NATIONALIST COUNTRY, play GOD (the God of their own choosing, and remove any CIVIL RIGHTS from which the GOP think their CULTIST VOTING POOL are afraid of!
