A number of Senate Republicans, however, declined to wade into whether the latest development will hurt him in the looming 2024 contest. “I think it’s clearly up to the voters. They’ll figure out what’s important to them,” Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), who is up for reelection next year, told reporters. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) said that he still believes the ex-president will be the GOP presidential nominee and added that Trump being found liable for sexual abuse will make the general election “interesting.” He said voters will have to weigh that against the “continuing pileup of scandals from the Biden White House.” (The Hill)
Former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley also dodged a question from conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, saying “I’m not going to get into that. That’s something for Trump to respond to.” “It has a cumulative effect,” Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, the Senate’s second-ranking Republican, said of Trump’s legal pileup on Tuesday. “People are going to have to decide whether they want to deal with all the drama.” (Washington Post)
The Republicans have DEFINITE RESPONSES, all of them, full of fire and brimstone/religious and ethical superlatives, and a whole lot of moral fortitude when it comes to diminishing WOMEN’REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS/BANNING BOOK and TRANSPHOBIA. None of them seem shy to speak their mind insisting that THEY know the difference between right from wrong, and good from bad…BUT suddenly, they become elusive and evasive NO MATTER WHAT, the immoral actions TRUMP has taken, NO MATTER WHAT, crimes TRUMP has committed, and NO MATTER what TRUMP has done.
The GOP is all about winning the elections. The GOP wants the power. The GOP does not give any shits about anyone else but themselves!
