Trump does not have the capacity to blink, to say I was wrong, to admit failure, and he believes that he will remain president for life. So, although I applaud the EU government leaders for a bit of tenacity, I believe tenacity only works against rational, normal human beings, and we all know that Trump is irrational, far from normal, and a questionable human.
Along the way, as Trump persists in his land of NARCISSISM, the rest of us peasants will suffer his consequences because, among so many human attributes, Trump is void of having is EMPATHY!
