“We Always Bring a Butter Knife to a Gunfight”: How Democrats Failed to Respond to the Supreme Court, and What They Need to Do Now (Vanity Fair)
THIS HEADLINE is exactly how I have been feeling regarding the very PASSIVE and seemingly NON-EXISTENT actions by and from the Democrat leadership, especially the MILQUETOAST within the Senate Democrats. (MILQUETOAST is a timid, meek, or unassertive person.)
Republican, McConnell is a sharpshooter, a dirty tricks, promises made, promises ignored, two-timing bastard of a self-serving politician. His con game is right on target, and he never misses a chance to pick your pockets and pin a sign on your shirt that says I am stupid, as McConnell wears a T-shirt stating that HE is with stupid! So far Schumer and his cadre of Democrat cartoon figures pontificate, pout, bitch, and moan, but never seem to do more than simmer as their stupid just bubbles and bubbles. Add to that the very politicization of a Supreme Court which has certainly removed anything supreme in its 1950s approach to the issues facing Americans in 2022, and WE THE PEOPLE suffer the consequences of a REPUBLICAN PARTY playing dirty, and a DEMOCRAT PARTY, being played!
Right now, as is a real concern, Americans are worried about the cost of living as it relates to the prices of just trying to survive. What is missing, and the Republicans understand this, IS, the longer view as to what costs are Americans willing to ignore as in FREEDOMS/LIBERTY/EQUALITY fade away or go up in smoke? If the cost of gasoline makes it impossible to get to work or to shop, and once you get to shop, the prices for everything seem unbearable, no one wants to weigh abortion rights/LGBTQ rights/racism against that…BECAUSE as we seem to be smothering from sticker shock everything else seems secondary! The GOP has always been excellent at scaring us for the MOMENT, knowing that having a faux monster in front of you will jolt you, while the real fear should be the monster under the bed!
