SIGH. Once again, we witness the inability, the drive, the courage, and the Constitutional initiative of the Legislative Branch of the US Government to help maintain the checks and balances set in place to provide citizens with a means by which their lives include justice, equality, fairness, and true democracy. It is because the Republicans in the majority fear Trump more than they respect the average American.
First, the Judicial Branch of our Government, the Supreme Court, dispensed with its responsibility to be a part of the checks and balances, by almost declaring that the Executive Branch was not just the Presidency, but in fact a kind of Monarch, a person above and beyond any law of the land that they might find fault with. Once again, we see the Republican influence on the high court, and their allegiance to the financial forces which in reality have taken total control of how the United States functions.
If the majority of Republicans in Congress actually cared about law and order, right from wrong, saving democracy, as much as they care about preserving their political futures, these men and women would provide leadership for the American public, rather than castrate themselves for a false idol, Trump.
Be it the War Powers Act or the absolutely horrific machinations by Trump and his fellow pedophiles, regarding the Epstein Files, if the Legislative Branch of our Government, led by a Republican Majority, stood up for the laws of the land, for our Constitution, for the American people, Trump would no longer be an Emperor, a Fuhrer, a Dictator, and a Free Man.
Who to blame as we find ourselves in a very scary place in the history of the US, I believe a whole lot of it is with the Republicans, unrestricted money in politics, billionaires acting as Royals, and a sad sick group of Tech, Media, and Corporate elites, who like the politicians place their own fame and fortune above and beyond anyone else who is not them.
