It was a dark and stormy year, guilt oozing from the White House as thick as the moss growing on the dead stumps in the swampy waters of the Potomac. There was murder afoul in that once stately building, the stench of sulfur permeating the nostrils of the monsters from Wall Street, the Oligarchs from Moscow, and the family known as Trump. The victim was Democracy, it was found lying in pieces from the Capitol Building to the bureaucratic buildings lined up and down Pennsylvania and Constitutional Avenues and Boulevard. In the din the early daylight or at the falling of twilight one could hear dry, raspy cries of help, but most people thought it was only the exchange of coins between Lobbyists and Politicians or the heavy breathing of something not quite understood, but very much alive Dark Money. From the glow of the television set in the Family Quarters of the White House, with aura of orange, an unnatural hue, a passerby could almost imagine a Frankenstein Monster being energized by an electrical shock stimulated by a weird organization called Fox and Friends, and an arch enemy of normalcy and fairness something unworldly called a Hannity. As if it was its own universe, the thing siting watching television or playing with his phone would Tweet creating a maelstrom of weather so inclement to most normal human beings, but so soothing to the bottom dwellers like the single cell bacteria living off the fumes of underwater volcanic plumes. It was a dark and stormy year and no one was able to find the rainbow, the dawn of a new day, the bright sun blazing with the truth of a new day.
Kind of hokey, huh! Kind of silly and unsophisticated, yet something so real! I am not sure how many times I can criticize anyone or anything Trump, I know I must and I know I shall…but honestly to what avail. There are no longer checks and balances in this country. There are few and fewer Republicans with conscience in this country. And there seem to be less and less lawful ways to undo the the illegal activities created by Trump and his band of Klansmen. So, now Trump pretends he is concerned for the country and as a Patriot can not release the Democrat memo, a response to the propaganda presented by Devin Nunes, yet one more Republican most likely on the Putin payroll. Trump and Associates break the law, ignore the law, and yet the rest of us Americans are supposed to behave like GOOD LITTLE AMERICANS…WHY! No, seriously, why, must we anymore. One day a long time ago, the victims living inside the Warsaw Ghetto decided to not play nice, to the surprise of the Germans, the docile Jews of that ghetto made a statement, and demonstrated that passive is not always the most powerful way to behave. Isn’t it time those of us who care about our freedoms and the freedoms of the next generation stop playing by rules, that so far most Republicans have ignored. Please Congressman Schiff, start the riot, lek the Democrat memo, before the dark stormy year becomes a gloomy decade!
