I remember as a little kid, sitting around the kitchen table preparing for school, my mother would try and cheer us up, at 6:00 in the morning, and that is when I first heard the riddles…” How much wood, would a woodchuck, chuck, if a woodchuck, could chuck wood…” OR a real doozy, Nebuchadnezzar king of the Jews, spell THAT in four letters and I will give you my shoes.” Mysteries, as a small child the wonder of words, begging us to supply an answer, to consider the most mundane, and simplest of things, but in the process, just making it harder to make any sense of them! I know MOST of us grew up with the silliest of riddles, asked to be solved, leaving us, in our young minds, aghast and agog, as to why! And so it is with that recollection of the most useless of riddles I write this blog.
So Randy Dandy Paul, (the guy who if he can’t play by anyone’s rules makes up his own rules, that suit his temperament for the time), insists that he just can’t vote for any stimulus package that would assist Americans, because in doing so, that would make him a player in bringing socialism to the USA…this from the guy whose entire time in politics, has seen his salary/insurance/pension/workplace/and God only knows perks of the office paid in full by the government, but somehow THAT is NOT SOCIALISM! Or Senators Teddy (I swear Jesus choose me over Trump to be president) Cruz and Marsha, (Oh yea folks of Tennessee are like a bunch of moths flying around a light bulb waiting to be brutally burned to death) Blackburn, who JUST REFUSE to add to the deficit for those American wanting food, shelter, health care in these times of a Pandemic ravishing their personal health and their own economic condition, INSISTING, as THEY and (THEIR ROYAL COHORTS) sit in their palatial mansions, engorged in more than enough food, having the federal Government pay for all of their necessities in life, that if we are not frugal NOW, our children will have to pay the consequences in the future…FORGETTING of course, (because it is of no relevance to ANY OF THEM), that our kids will have NO future, if we DO NOT assist Americans NOW, because COVID kills/Unemployment creates hunger and homelessness, and the pressure of a slow death drives us all to doom!
And then, as he is playing round after round of golf, (swearing he is having lots of meetings and meeting with lots of people) at Mar-A-SUPERSPREADER-Lago, Trump is angry that fashion magazines have completely ignored Melanoma or is it, Melanie, How could this happen where are American priorities. When I heard that latest concern from Trump, I then remembered one more little rhyme my mother taught my sisters and I, “Ooey-Gooey, was a worm, a NOBLE worm was he, he sat upon a railroad track, the train he DID not see…Ooey-Gooey”
