Back in 2020, then-President Donald Trump threatened Black Lives Matter protesters with brutal crackdowns, tweeting at one point that "when the looting starts, the shooting starts.”
It turns out that in private, he was in fact seriously looking into how he could shoot protesters — and that then-Defense Secretary Mark Esper resisted his demands. According to Axios, Esper wrote in a forthcoming memoir that as protesters gathered near the White House following the murder of George Floyd in May 2020, Trump asked him: "Can't you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something?" (MSNBC)
AND THIS:

Esper, his defense secretary, about the possibility of launching missiles into Mexico to “destroy the drug labs” and wipe out the cartels, maintaining that the United States’ involvement in a strike against its southern neighbor could be kept secret---- As such, as Trump saw it, the United States could “just shoot some Patriot missiles” into Mexico and destroy drug labs. We could do this “quietly,” Trump told Esper, adding that “no one would know it was us.” According to the plan, Trump would simply deny responsibility when asked about the missile strike. (MSNBC)
AND YET:
Within the current Republican Party there still remains an OATH OF LOYALTY, to all, that was and is still criminal, crazy, and corrupt toward TRUMP. AND WORSE: the TRUMP Base remains the bully, the bigot, the bogus, but is catered to because the current crop of GOP Politicians prefers their own welfare above and beyond the PUBLIC WELFARE. AND WHY: do the rest of us the 3plus million who voted TRUMP out of office, remain so silent, so passive, pretending that current events DO NOT MATTER, or even MATTER IN OUR LIVES!
