from Inside the House

The line "the call is coming from inside the house" is from the 1979 horror movie "When a Stranger Calls". Black Christmas (1974) was the first horror film to use this line. When a Stranger Calls is not the first, but the second to use it. (QUORA)

I remember the movie, "When a Stranger Calls". For me, the scariest of scary are the actions of humans acting as monsters, not creatures, or space aliens, BUT real people committing the kind of mayhem, calculating, blood-curdling, purposeful, and intentionally vicious.  When the audience discovered that the DANGER came from within a place that we once thought had been a safe refuge, for me TERROR ENSUED, and all kinds of hope of safety eroded.

So far, the year 2023 might as well be a scene from the movie "When a Stranger Calls", with the quote, "the call is coming from inside the house" resonating way too true, way too often, and way too ominous.

From the House Republicans' constant witch hunts to Ron De Satan, calling slavery GREAT, and don’t say gay, to Trump once again threatening this nation with more violence, to almost every Republican running for President, declaring that law and order are Anti-American, to FOX News still lying about the truth, to the Republican-appointed Justices on the Supreme Court, enacting laws their wealthy donors want, to Greg Abbott, trying his best to murder immigrants from Mexico, to Musk thinking he is God, to Evangelicals hypocrisy, ALL I HEAR IS that the danger, the monster, the creature, the evil is coming from inside the house; that HOUSE being my nation, my country.

I am so afraid of wondering “What happens next!”
