Ever since “MAN-SPLAINING,” originated, women have found themselves as chattel, as possessions owned and operated, by of course MEN. “MAN-SPLAINING, it seems began as the authors of the Bible, decided that Eve had been a rib of Adam, from him. And because of Eve’s evil and selfish intentions to dissuade Adam from the righteousness of God (who just happened to be a Male), women needed to suffer the consequences as seemingly the originator of the Original Sin. I have not invented this idiotic concept, rather, read any Christian/Judea Bible, and you can see just how imposing misogyny has been as a foundation of Christian/Judea fear-mongering.
But I digress. My BLOG is not a commentary on the bias and bigotry conceived by men, against women based on religious text written, rewritten, and re-created mostly by men, RATHER it is my commentary regarding how MISOGYONY, has truly NEVER ended, and how it has remained an important variable helping men to somehow maintain their Testosterone and Masculinity at, of course, the expense of women.
In the 1600’s women who actually acted too assertive, were considered witches, and burned alive at the stake in the US. During the 1700’s women, had no rights to property, no ability to vote, and no say so as to how their future might become. In the 1800s women were considered anti-Christian if they dared to question their owners, their husbands. In the early 1900s women who did not marry were relegated to become ancillary workers, performing perceived menial jobs, such as nurses, to assist the male doctors, teachers, and actual caregivers for children, and considered “OLD MAIDS”, if they were never married. In the later part of the 1900’s those women who dared act up act out, were called out as Lesbians, or in religious terms “BAD WOMEN”/ “SICK WOMEN”/ “WOMEN WHO THOUGHT THEY WERE MEN.”
When the 2000’s approached, there was great hope that somehow in the US, EQUALITY was actually a REALITY. Women might actually be regarded as more than not men, but real people. Sadly, however as the promise of the future arrived, the inequities of the past, via, insecure men, and women who feared their own capabilities, became more and more relevant.
Think about this, please. In the US, we have three major prefixes for women, MRS. Letting us know she is owned. MISS, letting us know she is desperately seeking to be owned. MS. Letting us know that she might be a Lesbian. But when it comes to a male, we have ONE prefix, Mister. MISTER, indicating nothing at all regarding his marital status, his, ability to own another, or his sexual preference. HE IS A MISTER. Or is he intended to remain a MASTER!
