I-ron-ic/ happening in the opposite way to what is expected, and typically causing wry amusement because of this. Mor-on-ic/ very foolish or stupid. Sar-don-ic/ grimly mocking or cynical. Ick-y/ unpleasantly sticky/nasty or unpleasant.
I just don’t get it, sometimes (since the Time of Trump, I don’t get it most of the time.) Two trends have and are becoming the norm, (when I say trends I am referring to the Pop Culture world of the affluent American, sometimes so oblivious to the real world, you need to worry.) It seems that ripped jeans at almost $150 a shot on the cheaper end and Intermittent Fasting are REALLY Popular. So, just to sound like an old codger (which my age may define me as) WTF! Wealthy people are paying to wear ripped jeans, and purchasing guides to fasting, and not giving one iota as to how ironic that might be, as they pass homeless folks draped in ragged blankets, shoes that don’t fit, clothes with holes in them and signs which read haven’t eaten in a few days, or please help me with some money to buy food!
I have never been certain what an Iowa Caucus was, and this year, in particular, I could honestly give a shit. All that it has been is more reason for the Dem Candidates the wannabe President folk to talk trash about one another, and to have their surrogates infuse the public discourse with enough vitriol to keep the fires and fingers of Trump Tweet glowing hot. The infighting between the Dem hopefuls leaves me hopeless as to who will not be eaten spit out and rechewed. No coming together for the Dems, more of a free for all, as if this year, a give and take was appropriate, because this year just might be the last we give, and everything else is taken from us. A bit moronic I suppose, the Democrats, helping Trump do his dirty work. Oh yeah, and what a hoot…the tallies can’t be tallied because some computer app, ain’t working, a technical glitch, you betcha!
And then we have the GOP Senators, ready to acquit Trump, even though many of them have NOW made public that Trump did some bad things, Trump broke some kind of law, Trump was too stupid to know right from wrong…But nonetheless, all of the GOP weasels fear that Republican BASE, which honestly exists because brains have died, and many who attend the MAGA Klan’s like lynching are paid, actors. BUT somehow Trump is King or a Mafioso Boss, has his minion Moscow Mitch payoff the senators from the slime and sewage of the American Oligarchs known as the 1% Donor Class or better yet as characters from Star War Movie the Dark Money People! One might become sardonic, at this moment…and I am! Aren’t all of the things happening around us very, very icky!
