Despotism is a form of government where a single ruler has absolute power and authority, often exercising it in an oppressive or tyrannical manner. This type of rule is characterized by a lack of checks and balances, leading to arbitrary and unfair governance. (Merriam-Webster).
250 years later, and what have we become, a nation that has permitted a Despot to become a king, and a political party a sack of shitty enablers. Kowtowing has become a national pastime, our Justice system a roadblock for individual freedoms, monopolies piling up faster than the cars of a derailed railroad, and our once fourth branch of government has been co-opted by the billionaires and board members who prefer big bucks rather than fair and balanced.

How easy it was for the Fascists/Christian Nationalists/ Heritage Foundation/ Dark Monied domestic terrorists to pretend that all they wanted and all they were was Populists, making America great and making America first. Sell the snake oil that there were THE OTHERS out there who, like the monster under your bed, were coming for the hearts and souls of decent men and women who had hate in their hearts, bigotry in their blood, and selfishness in their souls.
A Ballroom, for the King and his billionaire bogus buds. Corruption in the form of the Trump family grifting off the taxpayer. Avoidance of the Constitution, replacing it with cliff notes of the Bible and babble of faux preachers and pastors.
