ATF data shows that in 2020, police recovered almost twice as many guns with a short “time-to-crime” — in this case, guns recovered within a year of their purchase — than in 2019. Law enforcement officials generally view a short time-to-crime as an indicator that a firearm was purchased with criminal intent, since a gun with a narrow window between sale and recovery is less likely to have changed hands. Altogether, more than 87,000 such guns were recovered in 2020, almost double the previous high. And almost 68,000 guns were recovered in 2020 with a time-to-crime of less than seven months (meaning they were less likely to have been purchased the previous year). (The Trace)
The opening scene of any Zombie movie, any The Apocalypse is right around the corner film, OR any Invasion From Outer Space flick usually has a bunch of people clutching their guns, pistols, and assault weapons. Too often many of them smirk and decide to take the law into their own hands, AND immediately any preference for law and order is tossed out of the broken window, knocked down the door, or leveled garage. Then the director pans to a supermarket with dazed and confused people, knocking down shelves, trampling on one another, pushing, and pulling, and eventually using some kind of weapon to steal a canned ham! As these movies trudge on (and I am quite the fan of all three of this genre of movie), we watch entire populations turn into the actual monsters of which ORIGINALLY we were to FEAR. And if the writing of even the most SCHLOCK-FILLED MOVIE is any good, the viewer will eventually not be able to tell the difference between the ZOMBIE/the MONSTERS/or the SPACE ALIENS and HUMAN BEINGS!
The HORROR-IFIC MOVIE which played from January 20, 2017, and ended on January 20, 2021, is a perfect example of never being quite being able to discern the difference from the good guy to the bad guy. Evil Incarnate in the form of TRUMP, his Court Jester of Demons, and the Pathetic Politicians of the Republican Party, ALL willing to BREAK LAWS/IGNORE JUSTICE, and PERMIT HATE, FICTION AND LIES to become a priority, set the WORST EXAMPLE for the already demented delusional and dangerous citizens of this nation. TRUMP and his PARTY of ANARCHISTS became the Poster People for crime, chaos, and confusion. I am not surprised to read that the “time-to-crime,” guns spree has found footing in this nation!
