An Article V constitutional convention is a dangerous path that puts all of our cherished rights, civil liberties, and freedoms at risk. Other than the convention that drafted our Constitution, there has never been a constitutional convention in the nation’s history; there is nothing stopping a new convention from rolling back our constitutional rights and civil liberties. Our right to vote, our right to free speech, our reproductive rights, our citizenship rules, and more could all be up for grabs. (Common Cause)
The Trump Party/The Christian National Party/The MAGA Party aka The Republican Party has made it very clear that they do NOT PREFER the current definition of American Democracy and looking very closely at the RED STATES whose Legislative Majorities remain Republican to their GERRYMANDERED DISTRICTS/VOTER REPRESSION LAWS/they are actively enacting STATE WIDE LEGISLATION, to keep their Party in power.
Disguised, somehow as FREEDOM of CHOICE, or ANTI-WOKENESS, GOP majority states have denied FREEDOMS for the LGBTQ Community, Women’s Reproductive Rights, People of Color, and ONE PERSON ONE VOTE. Under the guise of POPULISIM OR FEDERALISM (a system of government in which the same territory is controlled by two levels of government. Generally, an overarching national government is responsible for broader governance of larger territorial areas, while the smaller subdivisions, states, and cities govern the issues of local concern.) Republican Politicians demand separate laws for themselves, and laws that do anything but keep people equal.
The Confederacy believed they had the right to own slaves. The South believed they had the right to make segregation the law. Now we have states like Tennessee/Florida/Texas/Missouri denying the study of factual history/censorship of books/playing the part of the Medical community, insisting they know more about women’s reproductive systems, Trans children, and now Trans Adults, and of course Vaccinations. These same states and at least another two dozen, want to end all kinds of fair voting and ban certain education. If you are not afraid, BE AFRAID…if you think this too shall pass…REMOVE YOUR HEAD FROM YOUR ASS, if you think that none of this has anything directly to do with you…REMEMBER THAT ONE BY ONE YOUR NUMBER WILL BE NEXT!
