As I sit and contemplate what topic of distress to write, and rant, and ridicule regarding anything TRUMP, I first must try to ignore the very awful pit in my gut, seriously catch my breath in an attempt to stop my heart palpitations, and force back an emotional break down full of HOW THE FUCK CAN THIS BE!
Every once in a while, I read an article that provides a modicum of relief, and a sliver of hope that what I believe to be the end of the world might not actually be ending. I read this article from SLATE, BY Dahlia Lithwick, and was able to find some lessening of angst, understanding that enough people, well, at least hopefully enough people out there in this almost dystopian nation of ours, CARE ENOUGH TO STOP IT!
The Tide Is Turning After 100 days of chaos, I think we can finally declare that America realizes what is happening—and cares enough to stop it.
This Trump administration is staffed by hollow-eyed cultists and loyalists who neither act as a brake on his most unconstitutional efforts nor possess the capacity to be shamed by the judicial system. They flood the zone, and even if they win only 10 percent of their stupid gambits, those gambits still create material harm for real people. Most worrisome, even when they effectuate their unconstitutional wishes stupidly and clumsily, they don’t actually care enough to try any harder to get it right. Which means they may be on the precipice—if they have not already gone over the cliffside, and this is the thing we are holding our breath tracking—of fucking around and finding out whether there are still limits on what can be done. Whether there are still courts and law to stop them. (SLATE)
