MUSK did not study the ways of the government; he never intended to get to the bottom of things. Rather, he wanted to be the boss of everything, and when he bought and paid for Trump, being the boss of almost everything was a part of the deal. Trump could not give him total free rein because that would disturb Trump’s insecure ego, but giving MUSK the power to ruin and run amok as he so desired was the best deal for the two AUTHORITARIANS!
MUSK thought running or is it ruining the government would be a fun hobby, and until he got caught up in the facts, his fictional pursuit was abruptly halted. Like Trump, MUSK hates to be found a fraud, so he stepped away from the chaos and crisis he created.
But also part of the art of the deal for MUSK was that all of his other namesake corporations received bouquets of Federal Money, so even though he is leaving DOGE, he remains the winner. It was never about his abilities, but about his ability to buy Trump.
