Sorry Senator McCain, a cop out is still a cop out no matter how much red white and blue you try to decorate it or camouflage the truth. Senator McCain, when you joined the Navy as a pilot and fought in Viet Nam, that was a brave and patriotic action. You stood behind the Preamble: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” You returned from the war not only a hero, but with an understanding that life, liberty and the pursuit of freedom is who we are as Americans. You began your political career, defining yourself as a “maverick”.
But then Senator McCain, still a hero from your unquestionable service in Viet Nam, your “maverick” persona seemed to drip from your body and you replaced that lost blood, with a poison not of national service but of personal gain. Unvetted, uncaring, thinking that a female on the ticket would be equal to Hillary Clinton winning the Democrat primaries, you permitted your team to pick up a Conservative insect living under a rock, and found Sarah Palin. You never were brave enough to admit your failure in doing so. Sadly your Republican Party became a Tea Party, and once again personal gain was your strategy and there was no more trace of “maverick” to be seen. This year, the Republicans of Arizona have moved so far right, permitting the bigots and racists,to lead the party, and you have joined in the dance of deceit. Your quote regarding Donald Trump is a good one, congratulations for finding your backbone. You would have found your balls had you added, I CAN NO LONGER SUPPORT THIS DANGEROUS MAN AGAINST DEMOGRAPHY. No hero here Sir, just another Republican politicians putting self interest against the interest of a nation.
