Standing

Why is it that the ACTION OF doing things seems to be more important than the PURPOSE OF taking that action? Why are the FACADES seemingly more relevant than the actual FOUNDATION of the person? Why is it we must DEFINE an enemy, instead IDENTIFYING our own insecurities? Why must we always ASK a question, instead of providing the ANSWERS.

Does a person wearing a white robe, or a brown shirt, or a T-shirt proclaiming this is a white/christian nation, holding the Confederate Flag with his or her AK-47 standing at attention while the National Anthem is being played a BETTER AMERICAN than someone who has asked the questions of why not freedom and equality for all, who does not want to stand while the National Anthem is being played? Is JUST standing for the National Anthem, all the proof we need to proclaim our love for the Homeland, rather then our efforts to create life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all?

I stand while the National Anthem is played, I do so because I want to. I am a man who happens to be Gay and Jewish and there are people also standing for the National Anthem who believe that because of who I am, I deserve less freedoms then they do. Because we both stand for the National Anthem, does that make hate/denial of rights/inequality a secondary matter. Here is the thing, when WE ALL SIT down, after the National Anthem, whose America is it?
