Melancholy Moon

“Day is done, gone the sun…” and the melancholy moon appears. It darts and dashes between having fun and had fun. It rushes and ruminates between we will do it and its been done. It glares between clouds, hiding its Cheshire grin, appearing only to remind you that its time to say goodbye. It gloats knowingly, with eyes that shared your experiences, and sheds tears, understanding that something else awaits when its partner the sun rises again.

Melancholy moon, full and foolish, emoting in the sky, teasing, taunting, telling you that time does fly. It is the evening, and the moon, will pull and push, give and take and light the path leading to another day.

It is time to wipe the salty particles of the sea from our bodies… release the sounds of individuality as it danced on Commercial Street…share last embraces from the old and new friends found…And say, until next year, hello sun and hello moon, to Provincetown!
