Switzerland on Monday adopted European Union sanctions against Russia over its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine — a historic move given the country's history of maintaining neutrality toward armed or political conflicts between other states… Czech President Milos Zeman and Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban, both historically strong pro-Russian voices in the European Union, condemned the affront as "an unprovoked act of aggression," AP reports… The president of Bulgaria, which was Russia's closest ally during the Cold War, said the invasion was "absolutely inadmissible." The ruling coalition leaders in Romania called Russia "the architect of the worst security crisis since World War II." Moldovan President Maia Sandu said Russia’s attacks were launched "in violation of international norms," and the international community "unanimously condemns these military actions." BUT BACK IN THE USA: Tucker Carlson and his ideological allies, like Steve Bannon and Donald Trump, see in Putin someone with a shared worldview — authoritarian, fiercely nationalistic, happily bigoted… Republicans in Washington are trying to counter Russian aggression as Donald Trump calls Putin ‘smart’ and other world leaders ‘dumb.’ As an authoritarian adversary sparks an international crisis, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis admonished U.S. allies, not Vladimir Putin. Why Tom Cotton couldn’t criticize Trump for praising Putin… The problem(s) with Tommy Tuberville’s take on Russia’s attack As the Alabama Republican sees it, Russia invaded Ukraine because it's a “communist country” in need of “farmland.” That’s not even close to being true.
After Donald Trump praised Vladimir Putin, some pushback from Sen. Tom Cotton should’ve been easy. It wasn’t. (MSNBC)
Let’s get real, as in WTF REALNESS! Way too many GOP Politicians, way too many FOX Entertainers, way too many of the perceived Republican Primary Voters, seem to hate democracy and embrace whatever kind of delusional Government Vladimir Putin pretends he is defending. Let’s get real, and let’s call all of these monsters Russian-ASS-ettes. So America, it is no longer convenient, as I see it to pretend you can look the other way, as TRUMP and his band of want to be Fascists slowly but certainly tear apart our sense of liberties, freedom, justice, and democracy. Time is running out and to remain undecided or uninvolved is just one more nail in the USA’s coffin in which DEMOCRACY will surely be buried!
