Back in the day, when those days were a part of the 1950s, early in the morning, as my sisters and I reluctantly got ready for school, my mother would, as many mothers had, sensed the mood of the kitchen and its occupants, and in doing so tried to quell any rumblings that might erupt. I was not a fan of waking up early, and from third grade and beyond, the entire idea of school starting any earlier than 10:00 am seemed absurd (albeit I did not use absurd in my usual vocabulary). To try and make the mood less of a confrontation, my mother would sing a song called, ‘Yes We Have No Bananas’…There's a fruit store on our street, It's run by a Greek. And he keeps good things to eat, But you should hear him speak! When you ask him anything, he never answers "no". He just "yes"es you to death, and as he takes your dough. “Yes It IS snowing, but no you still have to go to school, just think of the fun you will have when you get home playing in the snow.” Yes, you have a spelling test today, and no you cannot miss school, and remember how happy you will be when you get your grade because you studied so hard!” Easy to get the mood and rhythm of the morning, and the arduous attempts made by my mother to (as another old song flashes in my brain) accentuate the positive, but never denying there might be a negative.
Even as GOP leaders try to turn the focus of the country to President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump just keeps fighting the last war — going after Republican incumbents who either voted to impeach him or otherwise wronged him. (CNN News) SO YES THIS IS A BLOG, but NO, not as much about TRUMP, as it might seem. TRUMP has not gone away, and I believe sadly he never will, and TRUMP, is evil, and I suppose always had been and definitely will be. But for me, the key giveaway from this CNN Headline is quite to the contrary… TRUMP is terrible, but for me, if the DEMS stopped feasting upon themselves, and stopped complaining that every MAGICAL WISH, AND MOMENTOUS WANT, they PRETENDED would MANIFEST, with the election of Biden hasn’t found fruition, YET it is not because BIDEN hasn’t tried to make it so. To be honest, for as much as the Republicans in Congress suck, they at least suck as a unit. Not a great lesson about morals and values, fair and honest, but a lesson for the HARD TIMES, that Democrats should acknowledge, and from which should learn! If the Dems urged the Media to stop harping on the things out of Biden’s control, and asked them as WELL AS THEMSELVES, to promote the good…imagine what the prospects of the Midterms might actually look like! YES, things can get better, and NO, it’s not because Biden hasn’t tried!
