So let us IMAGINE, if Washington had been more like a Reagan---Reagan was never impeached for the Iran-Contra Affair, despite critics and pundits predicting it early in the investigation. Some people who worked for him were charged. --- Nixon resigned in disgrace in the Watergate scandal before impeachment hearings began. People close to him were charged, and some served prison time. ---Harding, Harding, Harding died in office before he was ever impeached, charged, or even directly connected to his administration's scandals. Some people close to him, known as the "Ohio Gang," were imprisoned for crimes committed while Harding was president. ---Grant, Grant was the first president to appoint a special prosecutor, who he later fired. He also testified on behalf of a defendant in the Whiskey Ring scandal, in which he was never implicated. ---Johnson, Johnson was the first president to be impeached. The House impeached him, but he survived the Senate's trial by one vote. He did not seek a second term.
We have learned about way too many examples of a power grab by TRUMP and his associated Seditionists. From personally ripping apart memo’s Presidential notes and letters, having tried and thankfully failed to expunge voting machines and the tabulations of the results, trying to purge Electors from states in which TRUMP and his fellow Fascists decided they should have won, and a PLETHORA of more and more DISPARAGING AND GROSS DISREGARD for this nation's DEMOCRACY Presidential policies, the Putin Puppet and his menagerie of treason embracing enemies of the state, have stained permanently the standards established by the first President, regarding loyalty to this nation above the NEED FOR SELF SERVING!
Washington at least during the birth of this nation tried to establish a way forward for Democracy to THRIVE. Term limits because Americans should not have one person in power almost his entire lifetime. I have often wondered how, (NOT WHY, because the WHY is answered by the mere fact that the Senate establishes laws of Term Limits, and why would THEY ever put aside their own POLITICAL AMBITIONS for the AMERICAN PUBLIC), WHY there has not been a HUGE PUBLIC OUTCRY, demanding, that any politician in a leadership position, NOT be told ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, and step away, NOW!
