quite the quote

“Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.”We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.
(Benjamin Franklin) The Trump Road Show has booked stops along the way, in towns and cities where the best in life is to pretend that your life is the correct way to live. No need to compare better, because everyone else is worse and everyone else is the enemy. There is safety in pretending that a lie will make a fact disappear as did the pail of water kill the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz. And who indeed, suggested that they kill the witch, but the Con Man, the wizard himself, just to make sure his lying life remained secure.

“Ignorant people see life as either existence or non-existence, but wise men see it beyond both existence and non-existence to something that transcends them both; this is an observation of the Middle Way.” (Lucius Annaeus Seneca) You no longer can shop, drive, walk, babysit, sit on your front porch, or even enter your home, doing any of those activities while being black. There is greater permission from the insecure folks of the Trump Administration insist that difference is not functional. Now, we have learned that the daily life of women is questionable, and their intentions are nothing more to tempt boys for being boys. Immigrants have learned that dare they inspire to enrich their lives, the price to be paid is family separation. And soon, very soon, the LGBT community shall either begin to wear the Pink Triangle, or caged in the same empty warehouses as the innocent brown colored child.

“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” (Thomas Jefferson)  In at least 5 states, the ability to vote has been disabled and dismantled. In particular, the states of North Dakota and Georgia has decided that there is too much for the Republicans to lose if all citizens of those states follow the Constitution permitting one-person one vote. An activist Supreme Court not acting on the fairness of the law, but the inequity of politics decided that Voter restriction and Voter denial were more accurate definitions of democracy. The limits on how and when and where we vote, have mounted like mounds of termite hills. The freedoms of democracy are eroded, and we will all be fools if we believe that even a trickle of BLUE water hits our shores on November 6, 2018. The GOP is way too sleazy to permit fair and honest to prevail.

“The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant.” (Maximilien Robespierre) Talk loud, talk in circles, repeat the lie, then lie about even speaking the lie in the first place. Pretend that history is just fiction, words invented by some sad losers, who really, really don’t understand your own conditions. Tell them coal is clean, explain to them if rich people have more money they willow course share it with you. Tell them that being a bully is macho, and being macho means never apologizing. Speak as if any minute you can prove a point, but prove to your followers, that there is no reason to make a point of your truth, because someone may call you a liar. Rant and rave and find a scapegoat so all the inept can remain ignorant! Be a Republican in the year 2018 and pretend you care about the little people, all the while keeping them little!
