Hamas announced on Sunday that it rejects the invitation by the U.S., Qatar and Egypt for a final round of negotiations over the Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal planned for Thursday. (AXIOS)
Let’s be clear: WORLD. Hamas attacked Israel and abducted 251 people from Israel to the Gaza Strip, including children, women, and elderly people. In addition to hostages with only Israeli citizenship, almost half of the hostages are foreign nationals or have multiple citizenships. Some hostages were Negev Bedouins.
They initiated this war. They may have taken some Israeli soldiers, but the mainstay of their kidnapping was innocent people, non-combat Troops. Having had plenty of opportunity to release their captives, Hamas, which relies on Terrorism and brutal tactics, declined several times to reply to the part of the world demanding humanity. Hamas attacked Israel; like so many other attacks on Israel, Hamas found themselves on the losing side of this war and demanded that suddenly Israel should acquiesce and stop defending itself.
Israel fought back and continues to fight back; I believe because how many times must you be abused until you finally say ENOUGH! The deaths of innocents sadden me, but I must ask myself, what if Israel stops? Has the majority of the Arab world announced that they will support a Palestinian State free of Hamas? Has the majority of the Arab World come to the conclusion that a two-state solution includes freedom and equality for both the Palestinians and the Israelis? And now, given an opportunity to STOP their terrorist actions, Hamas says, “No way!”
